"Lebendiges Theater" 1944 by Ludwig Sievert

Ludwig Sievert Production-designer, primarily between the two wars for pre-world-war-two German expressionist theatre, later changed his style and started to design his sets more realistically in keeping with the political powers of the nation in the late 1930s and 40s.

Trained for art scene painting in Aachen, Germany.

Attended school for arts and crafts to train his skills -

Met director Richard Weichert during his engagement in Mannheim.

The two of them worked closely together throughout the 1910s and 1920s.

He was influenced by the reforming theories of Adolphe Appia and Edward Gordon Craig
