First edition, hardback issue, one of only about 50 copies issued thus. The South African poet and novelist William Plomer had been publisher's reader for Jonathan Cape from 1937 he was instrumental in the publication of Fleming's work and the dedicatee of Goldfinger, and the very first reader of the James Bond debut 'Casino Royale'.
