The programme for a 1936 production of Pride and Prejudice, with a cover design by Rex Whistler. The play was dramatised by Helen Jerome, produced by Gilbert Miller and Max Gordon, and performed at the St. James's Theatre, London. It starred Celia Johnson and Hugh Williams as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. Whistler designed the costumes, scenery, programme and poster. The programme features his original design to the cover, depicting two ladies reposing in a country landscape with the title in drawn letters within a decorative oval frame.
