One of Raulet's scarcer works, this one survey's the finest jewelry of the 1940's and 1950's. While it focusses mainly on French work it also takes in Italian, and American jewelers. 546 illustrations, 235 in color. Biographical sketches of the designers.

In the 1940s and 1950s jewellery became sculpture and art, combining colours and materials as never before. The book offers a panoramic view of the new decorative style of the time, from its inception at the Paris Exhibition of Arts and Techniques in Modern Life in 1937 to its decline in the early 1960s.
