His father Jean had been Inspecteur de la Grande Écurie du Roi at Versailles, and this book reflects that heritage, Gaspard having studied horsemanship at L'Académie du Roi in Versailles. After an eventful life that saw active service, Gaspard set up a riding academy in Leyden. With 27 engraved plates. Text in French.
