Title-page, 52 colour plates, colophon plate, all loose and housed in a green cloth-bound clamshell box, with title label pasted to front board. English. 320 x 260mm. 1.7kg. . Near fine, in very good box; light wear to cloth, plates in excellent condition. The American artist James M. Steinmeyer produced a series of watercolours depicting historical European garden pavilions, including those at Drottingholm, Nymphenburg, Sans Souci, Schloss Charlottenholf, and Versailles. Steinmeyer's watercolours perfectly capture the lightness and detail of Rococo interiors and bring to mind the work of Alexandre Serebriakoff. The works are reproduced on fifty-two loose plates with details to verso. The book was published to accompany the exhibition at Emmanuel Moatti gallery.
