Mr. Noyes' garden is on the Isle of Wight, and this is a book of random philosophizing, of descriptive prose and verse, of reflections on the garden and other things, of anecdotes connected closely -- and remotely -- with the garden. Metaphysical at times, poetic often, religious occasionally. He writes of the island, of painters and writers. He includes a number of poems, keyed to the subject.
