Peter Biegel (1913-1989) was, during his lifetime, generally said to be "the best painter of the horse". He reportedly was a favourite of the Queen and the Queen Mother. Most of the horses pictured in this book raced in Europe. Three pages do feature Secretariat. A beautifully produced book and slipcase. A cornerstone of any racehorse book collection.
