One of the great equestrian libraries of our time, with a few dozen early books, manuscripts, and prints on horsemanship and hunting. Also, many works of literature, travel, history, etc. A useful reference for rare books.
Schiff's interest in breeding and racing horses is reflected in his library of sporting, racing, and hunting titles. The library also contained nineteenth century English and American literary first editions and twenty-one lots of Presidential autographs "apparently assembled by Mortimer Schiff during the administration of William Howard Taft."
