Jacob van Huysum was an eighteenth century Dutch botanical painter. His works are credited for their botanical accuracy whilst allowing for artistic flair and creativity. Van Huysum is perhaps best known for his work whilst under the patronage of Sir Robert Walpole, including the decorative work completed for his house at Houghton in Norfolk.
This charming work documents a series of twelve paintings undertaken by van Huysum, each being a bouquet of flowers for each month of year.
