The second half of what was originally thought to be a story written by Jules Verne in 1897 and published posthumously by his son in 1909. When the original manuscript was discovered in 1977, titled 'En Magellanie,' it became clear that Michel had actually re-written the story himself. It tells the story of an anarchist living on the remote southern tip of South America who helps a colony develop from the survivors of a shipwreck, and eventually finds himself their reluctant leader.
