The “L” stands for “William T. Lusk” He was a great grandson of Charles Lewis Tiffany- who founded what was to become one of the most prestigious jewelry and silverware concerns in the world. William was a grandson of noted artist “Louis Comfort Tiffany”. William Lusk was the fifth president of Tiffany’s in 1955. Retiring in 1967 as president, he remained a director when President Dwight D. Eisenhower asked Mr. Lusk if the President of the United States could get a discount, he replied “We didn’t give a discount to Mr. Lincoln”. Lincoln purchased a Pearl necklace for his wife.
