Sz: 5 7/8"H x 3"D at rim

Scarce set of 6 hand painted and signed glasses by Cyril Gorainoff (1891-1942).

About The Artist:  Gorainoff was a calvary officer during the Russian Revolution who had an inherent talent to draw horses and wildlife. After fleeing from Russia to America, he met a Czechoslovakian technical ceramicist named Frank Vosmansky. They combined their skills and opened a small gift shop on Madison Avenue in New York City during the 1920's. After much success in the 1930's, the prestigious Abercrombie and Fitch store entered into an exclusive contract with them to feature their sporting line of hunt scenes, dogs, and birds. During the Eisenhower presidency, these adventurous, talented immigrants were commissioned to produce china for the White House.
