This is a post-1960s update of a more formal British guide on good manners published in the 1950s. It covers all regions, but particular emphasis is placed on the London Scene that was then raging. The book acknowledges that due to the social upheavals of the previous decade, one might imagine only a slim volume on etiquette might now be necessary. However, the book disputes this, finding that not only do many of the old rules still apply but that less formality means more ambiguity, which requires even more rules. Includes many helpful illustrations—an attractive and very “mod” book.
