Barflies & Cocktails, first published in 1927, is one of the most amusing and significant of the Prohibition-era bar books. Author Harry McElhone counted such legendary drinkers as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Coco Chanel and Ian Fleming among the regulars of his New York Bar in Paris. As well as being first-to-press with many classic cocktails that were later to appear in the Savoy Cocktail Book (1930), Harry McElhone is credited with the creation of the Boulevardier, which can be found in the Epilogue.
