Vintage 1980s Brooks Brothers Makers button-down shirt, deadstock / new old stock without tags, made in the USA.
A particularly well-preserved example of Brooks Brothers’ classic American-made shirting, featuring a crisp all-cotton broadcloth in a traditional blue-and-white Bengal stripe. The shirt retains the older six-button front associated with vintage Brooks Brothers Makers shirts, along with a soft button-down collar, single chest pocket, barrel cuffs, deeply scooped shirttails, and back box pleat.
The interior label reads 15½-XL. Please note that “XL” denotes Brooks Brothers’ Extra Long sleeve length rather than Extra Large sizing; the shirt measures approximately 15.5” at the neck with an unusually long 35.5” sleeve.
Condition: The shirt is unworn and was acquired with its original factory pins still intact, indicating that it had not previously been opened for wear. The pins were removed for inspection, photography, and measurements and are shown in the photographs. One of the pins oxidized and left a faint stain on the yoke. Original collar supports are included; original hang tags and packaging are not included.
The interior factory marking identifies Garland, North Carolina manufacture and indicates that the fabric was Sanforized, a controlled-shrinkage treatment.
