An extensive and varied auction of rare and not-so-rare pieces from the attics and out-buildings from Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The sale provided the public with an opportunity to own a piece of one of the UK's most important historic houses. Lots include a Boulle marquetry commode, a William Kent chimney piece, gilt-gesso plaster fragments from the ballroom, 'A large quantity of Late Victorian cast brass light switches circa 1895', a trictrac board disguised as a book, a Venetian model of a gondola, a 'Cabinet of Curiosities', 'A Russian wrought iron, wood and leather upholstery sleigh, 19th century', armorial banners, a stuffed arctic fox, a Louis Vuitton trunk and a Triumph Stag.
