Among a magnificent group of carpets, one Ghasghai in indigo and red, made about 1930, brought 82,000 francs, or about $20,000. One Kashan woven of pale blue, ivory and red silk around 1900 brought 59,000 francs, or about $16,500. Another, about the same age and woven in rose, ivory and saffron silk, brought 80,000 francs, or about $20,000.
The highest price of the auction, 430,000 francs, or about $108,000, was paid for a table made in Holland around 1680. The wooden table, about 70 inches by 45, was covered in tortoise shell, mother of pearl and copper and was nearly identical to a table in the permanent collection of the Rijkmuseum in Amsterdam.
