For the last two decades he has been painting, and making collages, inspired by Maine. These island images of light reflected on water, sky and land capture the natural world. The beaches, coves and forested coast caught in his images reflect a sense of place. In the late seventies and eighties he painted in fresco making murals and smaller portable panels. He learned fresco at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine where he later taught it for a few summers.
