A brief, company-issued history of the bank from its founding by Aaron Burr in 1799. Illustrated with small portraits of some of the significant figures in the bank's history (including Burr and Alexander Hamilton, appropriately facing one another on the same page) and various scenes of old New York. The double-page map tipped in at the center depicts the "Plan of the City of New-York about the beginning of the Nineteenth Century," with a numerical key to 76 notable sites and locations.
