1902 St Leger Stakes: He rode Sceptre to a famous victory in the Doncaster St Leger. Sceptre remains the only horse in history to win four classic outright titles in a single season.
1903 Champion Stakes: Hardy also guided Sceptre to victory in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket.
