The company, inherited from the Pernod Fils house created in Pontarlier ( Doubs ) by Henri-Louis Pernod at the beginning of the 19th century and the Distillerie Hémard founded in 1871 in Montreuil by Ariste Hemard , merged in 1928 with Pernod Père et Fils founded in Avignon by Jules-François Pernod and his son Jules-Félix Pernod , custodian of the Anis Pernod brand since 1918.
