It was created around 1900 by the renowned French caricaturist and illustrator Georges Goursat, widely known as Sem. This piece is part of Sem's debut self-published folio, Le Turf, which catapulted the artist to overnight fame by brilliantly caricaturing the prominent Parisian socialites and racegoers of the era.
