Les Appartements du Baron de Redé en l'Hôtel Lambert, Isle Saint-Louis. Textes de La Princesse Bibesco et de René Héron de Villefosse. Illustrations de Jean-Louis de Maigret. Photographies de Jean Vincent.

First and only edition, exemplaire No 279 of 500 copies only; the restrained yet sumptuous record of the baron's painstaking restoration of his ground floor appartements in the Hôtel Lambert.

Oskar Dieter Alex von Rosenberg-Redé, 3rd baron von Rosenberg-Redé (1922-2004), was an aristocratic banker - he helped manage the Rolling Stones' burgeoning fortunes - and aesthete-socialite whose historically informed sense of spectacle made the costume balls that he hosted at the Hôtel Lambert internationally notorious. A highly evocative memento, the greater part comprised of Vincent's superbly atmospheric, velvety carbon prints. An excellent copy with pitch perfect provenance. Quarto (250 x 200 mm). Cream laid paper jacket over light card wrappers, title printed in black and grey-green, matching cloth-hinged stiff board chemise in heavy card slipcase with paper label matching the jacket mounted on the front panel. Unpaginated, 40 pages. 13 high-quality carbon photographs, tipped-in, two title-page frames and 4 chapter headers and vignettes printed in matching grey-green.
