For much of the first half of the 20th Century, “The Tout” drew caricatures, mainly of horse racing society, that were published principally in The Tatler and The Bystander weekly magazines.
The person behind the pseudonym was Peter Ronald Griffiths-Buchanan.
Lord Killeen was the courtesy title used by the future 12th Earl of Fingall during his father's lifetime. As an amateur jockey riding under the name Lord Killeen, he rode his first winner ("Anytime") and later became a prominent figure in Irish horseracing, serving five records as a National Hunt Steward.
Oliver Plunkett, 12th Earl of Fingall (1896–1984): Was a prominent amateur National Hunt jockey who famously rode wearing glasses. He won the 1930 National Hunt Steeplechase at Cheltenham.
