12 1/4" x 9 1/2"

Illustrated with black & white photographs. Photographs by Edward Weyer. Assembled by Agnes Rogers, with running comment by Frederick Lewis Allen. One of the first photographic studies of New York City, "primarily devised to suggest the complexion of human life in a metropolis--the ways in which people live and work and play." Lacks the spine back, with moderate soiling to the boards, else a good copy with scattered spotting to the endpapers. Scarce in the trade. From the library of the artists Ben Shahn and Bernarda Bryson Shahn, with an estate label designed by their son, Jonathan Shahn.
