McCrillis was elected into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 1966. McCrillis and Schniebs collaborated to film the Moosilauke downhill race at the NSA annual convention in Chicago in 1932. This was the first American Ski Film ever made. And this collaboration quickly led to the creation of this ski manual--one of the first technical books on skiing ever published in the U.S. "Modern Ski Technique" first appeared serially in the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine (1931-32) and was first printed in book form in 1932.
