A scarce copy of David Arkell's Pre-War guide to Paris with the dust jacket. Arkell was an English journalist working in Paris, writing a regular column for Men Only. Paris Today is intended as a 'reliable and entertaining guide to the follies and fashions of the town'. It is reliable as a snapshot of the French capital during its expat heyday but the Paris of "today" rapidly became very different in the shadow of the Second World War. Arkell was interned in Europe during the war. With illustrations by Edgar Norfield.
