Sir James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet, OM (9 May 1860 – 19 June 1937) was a British novelist and playwright, best remembered as the creator of Peter Pan. He was born and educated in Scotland and then moved to London, where he wrote several successful novels and plays.

Profusely illustrated on every page with both black-and-white drawings and vibrant full color drawings by Eulalie Minfred Banks (12 June 1895 – 12 November 1999) who was a British illustrator of children's books, illustrating over 50 children's books.
