The first edition stated of Sir Alfred Munnings' complete autobiography, thoroughly illustrated by the author to each volume. Comprising An Artist's Life, 1950, The Second Burst, 1951, and The Finish, 1952.
Sir Alfred James Munnings was one of England's finest painters. He was mostly known for his painting of horses, which captivated the role of the animal in a military environment through an impressionist style. Indeed, he became wealthy after the First World War, when he earned several prestigious commissions. He was president of the Royal Academy of Arts from 1944.
