Edward Frank Willis James (16 August 1907 – 2 December 1984) was a British poet known for his patronage of the surrealist art movement.

A collection of poetry from the Surrealist art patron and writer Edward James. The long title of the book continues 'with other poems published and many new ones. Pavel Tchelitchew's frontispiece includes a raised hand, a skeletal hand and a clenched fist. The clenched fist was used by James as a device for The James Press. It was incorporated by Rex Whistler in The Next Volume (1933) and appears again on the title-page of this book. With the scarce dust jacket featuring a photographic portrait of James taken by Yevonde in 1933.
