The double-entendres abound in this early crossover cookbook, published decades before gay became mainstream and went commercial. The author was a San Franciscan who sometimes performed as a chorus girl under the nom de drag Sonia Parlijer. With recipes for swishy steaks, chicken queens, and suggestions on what do with crabs, this book is high camp, but it also a practical cookbook. It was among the first to promote sushi and sashimi to the U.S. reader.
