The collection offered in this catalogue was gathered by Jacques Garcia over a number of years to furnish and decorate the main floor of a house built by Jules-Hardouin Mansart (1645-1708), principal architect to Louis XIV. Mansart build this house for himself in the Marais area in Paris. 93 lots of important French furniture, decorations, works of art, and carpets are described and illustrated, most in color.
